"For almost nothing, you get a pretty good game..."

One of the first games of the PSX has still proven to be the best action flight sim out there. Warhawk, the relec of the PSX proves that it's not pretty graphics that make the game, it's quality game play...

Story Line 4/10
Not much to talk about here. The seven levels in the game are not enough to put out a story line, and the best attempt made here was the ''you go places and shoot thing''
Ugh....

Graphics 7/10
A good game has graphics that let you determine what is what, and never screws you through poor or sloppy programing. Warhawk meets these basic requirement.
The live action movie sequenses try and propell a pathetic story line. It doesn't look bad, but they had little to work with as far as script goes.
A side note: it seems that the live action FMV is a lost art these days... shame.

Game Play 10/10
Awsome!!! This is on of the best control systems ever put into a PSX game. An this was one of the first to be put out for Sony!!! Why can't other action flight sims (*ahem* Colony Wars, *ahem* Wing Commander IV) follow a similar control system?

Innovation 5/10
Nothing much new here. It basically explanded of Wing Commander 3 for the SNES, making it more 3D, and perfecting the control system...

Replay Value 7 / 10
I still find myself playing this game from time to time, and I've had it for 4 years!!! It is so much fun to just plug in, enter a level code, and blast the heck out of everything in sight!! What fun!!!

Intelligence Level 4 / 10
When you play an action flight sim, you expect to react more than you think. And the story line doesn't exactly challenge the intelect, but it's still fun...

I wish, oh I wish they would put out Warhawk 2, but it becomes less and less likely with each passing year. Shame, the 6 or so levels in Warhawk made it tragically short.
A smart buyer could aquire Warhawk for about $5 from a game rental store, who doesn't get much business from this unsung hero of the early playstation anymore. That's part of what makes this game SO worth it! A quality game for less than $10!! What's to lose?
