John and Ste Pickford (Unknown) 22nd Mar 2013 12:37A Mastertronic adventure game, which Ste did the loading screen for while working at Binary Design. The Pickford Bros had no other involvement in the development of this game.
Ste writes: "One of several games which I just did the loading screen for at Binary Design. I don't think this was one of the ones I did on work experience. This was later, when I was employed full time.
This wasn't a Binary Design game. I've no idea who developed it. We just got a call from Mastertronic asking for a loading screen quick sharp! I didn't know anything about the game, and have never played it. They told me there was a robot and a pearl and an octopus thing etc., and I just designed an image from those basic instructions. Madness!
The loading screen was also used on the C64 version (thanks to Peter Weighill for emailing me to point this out), probably converted by somebody else (I have no recollection of having anything to do with a C64 version).
I've only just noticed that the game's cover misspells the title as "Kobyashi" rather than "Kobayashi"!
