Twelve separate Scenery Disks cover the entire continental United States. Additional Scenery Disks covering other areas of the world are also available. Each disk covers a geographical region of a country and includes the major airports, radio-nav aids, cities. highways. rivers, and lakes located in that region. Enough detail is available on each disk for either visual or instrument cross-country navigation.
STAR Scenery Disks cover smaller areas with a relatively dense amount of scenery STAR Scenery Disks are primarily intended for visual flight sightseeing. They include buildings and landmarks, as well as detailed renditions of all major airports in the area.

Scenery Disks
Jet is compatible with the series of scenery disks offered by SubLOGIC. While you cannot use these disks for combat missions, they could be used to stage aerobatic routines at one of hundreds of airports across the country. With the San Francisco disk you could perform a show over the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island.
These disks have one additional benefit: The fuel gauge will not work. You can fly for an unlimited period of time. While this might not be realistic, it can be a lot of fun as you cross the country, going from disk to disk in record time.

subLOGIC gave birth to Jet in 1985, with the help of subLOGIC as publisher. Cool simulation game, the player evolve in a flight theme with a 1st-person perspective.
One of the earliest flight sims known to man is this Sublogic game with an awe-inspiring title . Jet allowed you to fly an F-16 and an F/A-18, and you could fly off of a carrier. Although very primitive by today's standards, the game was revolutionary for its time, with as much real-world physics as would fit on a single 5.25" 360KB disk. The Commodore 64 version, naturally, was superior to PC version due to a much more extensive color palette than 4-color CGA. Developed by Charles Guy using Bruce Artwick's technology, Jet has the interesting feature of being able to run Scenery Disks developed for Microsof'ts Flight Simulator. When the game was released, it was the be-all and end-all at the time, with some ground-breaking elements, like remote views, guided missiles, etc. For those who want where flight sims come from : this is their great-grandfather :) Note: in the “Extras” box below, you can download a zip that includes a number of scenery disks from subLOGIC and Mallard, thanks to Alan. These include SD-1, SD-2, SD-3, SD-4, SD-5, SD-6, SD-7, SD-9, SD-11, SD-12, SD-HAW, MS-1 (Hawaii), MS-2 (Tahiti), and MS-4 (Japan). These scenario files can be used in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2.12, 3.0, and 4.0, as well as subLOGIC’s JET, Flight Assignment: ATP, and Thunder Chopper. We are still looking for SD-JAP (Japan), SD-EUR (Western European Tour Scenery) and Great Britian Scenery Collection (GB-1, GB-2 and GB-3). If you have any or all of these and would like to share them with others, please contact us!
