The ZX Spectrum +3e

What is the +3e?

The Spectrum +3e is an unofficial enhancement of the Spectrum +3. It consists of an updated operating system in ROM that fixes many of the bugs in the original Amstrad ROM, as well as adding lots of new commands to +3 BASIC. One of the most useful enhancements in the new ROM is that it supports IDE for hard disk and CF card access.

More information on the +3e project can be found at World of Spectrum, here.

How Can I Convert my Spectrum to be a +3e?

You can convert your +3 or even a +2A/B (black) into a +3e by replacing the ROM chips in your computer with the +3e ROM chips. For IDE support, you can optionally add a suitable hard disk or Compact Flash interface as well.
